Young truly enjoys learning about and experiencing anything to do with Italy. She likes to travel to experience new cultures, exercise, read, and go on boat rides. Because of her expertise and dedication to patient care, Dr. Young serves as the co-director of the Robotic Surgery Steering Committee at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville. She continues to utilize the da Vinci system to perform hysterectomy, myomectomy, resection of endometriosis, and removal of ovarian cyst procedures. Young was even the first physician to perform robotic surgery using the da Vinci® system at the Johns Hopkins Medicine Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, in 2009. She has special interests in uterine fibroids, abnormal bleeding, contraception, adolescent gynecology, and abnormal Pap smears.ĭr. North Carolina became his home where he completed his ObGyn residency at Duke University Medical Center earning Alpha Omega Alpha honors. She earned her doctor of medicine from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.ĭr.
